Senior Copywriter

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to help develop award-winning campaigns across health, public safety and education clients.


A Senior Copywriter helps lead creative concepting and copy development, working across disciplines to develop multi-channel campaign strategies. Senior Copywriters are focused on creating original, engaging ways to tell stories that drive business results. They take ownership of projects and love writing, concepting, strategy and rallying teams to get things done. Senior Copywriters are original thinkers, collaborators and are focused on client goals. They can draw on years of experience and proven creative strategies, focusing on both big picture goals and multiple writing tasks to get work done efficiently.


  • Develop strategic campaign concepts and write persuasive copy for all media including video, social media, email, websites, print, radio and more, along with mentoring other copywriting staff on best practices
  • Direct projects from inception to completion, exhibit ownership in creative assignments and ensure projects are kept on track and on deadline
  • Take direction from a creative brief or insight and translate it into imaginative, original ideas that connect with a target audience and impact client goals
  • Brainstorm with team members around campaign themes, tactics and more
  • Show a passion for innovation and inspiration, pushing for daring, original ideas
  • Develop and execute layered messaging strategies that speak to multiple audiences
  • Present concepts and copy to a Creative Director, explaining and defending your ideas and applying feedback
  • Collaborate with producers, digital strategists, media strategists and others in the development of multimedia campaigns
  • Pursue and exhibit knowledge and expertise in client industries of focus, while exhibiting a fluent knowledge of creative/copy strategy
  • Deliver, present and defend work that directly speaks to and impacts the client’s business goals
  • Use research and analytics to advance recommendations and contribute to creative optimization strategies


  • At least 3-5 years of experience in copywriting, content strategy or a related area in an advertising agency or in-house marketing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in advertising, journalism, communications, English or a related field
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A portfolio of work or writing samples is required

This position is an in-person role based in our Sioux Falls office.
