meet the hosts

Sara Waldner

She’s spunky. She’s fun. Sara’s the girl who does it all, and somehow manages to get it all done. Whether it’s traveling the world, buying a home, becoming a 200-hour yoga instructor or getting open water Scuba certified—nothing holds her back. How she manages to balance being an Account Supervisor on top of that is equally impressive, and exactly why we hired her. On a typical day, Sara’s leading our clients marketing plans, gracefully balancing multiple projects and implementing new processes to elevate the Account Service discipline. When she’s not in the office you’ll find her serving on the Mosaic Arts & Events board, Augustana Alumni council, Sioux Empire United Way fundraising committee and much more. Because, for Sara, the grind never stops.

Kristy Laue

As a copywriter and creative director, Kristy has balanced her love of writing and problem solving with a passion for creating strategic, award-winning campaigns for nearly 20 years. As Vice President of Creative, Kristy leads a 20-person team of writers, designers, editors and cinematographers across Sioux Falls and Minneapolis. The best part of her day is seeing their talent at work.

Outside of L&S, Kristy’s passionate about nurturing young creatives. She serves as a judge for the American Advertising Awards, Telly Awards and the Effie Awards; mentors elementary school students through the Teammates program; serves as board president for Mosaic Arts & Events, and is an adjunct instructor at South Dakota State University.

Carly Hegstad

Smart meets social. As a Director of Digital Marketing, Carly specializes in developing custom digital marketing strategies for websites, email marketing, CRM programs, social media, marketing analytics, mobile apps and other emerging technologies (translation: who knows what she’ll be working on in six months). Carly loves the fast-paced world of digital and is skilled at helping clients understand and quantify its value for their brands. Carly is Google Analytics certified and regularly attends industry conferences to educate our teams on the latest online. A native of Littleton, CO, Carly earned her BA in Public Relations and Business Administration (magna cum laude) from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. In her free time, she’s an avid fitness enthusiast who balances her love of getting strong with a weakness for chips and salsa.
