Taco John’s Returns to L&S

Working with a passion brand like Taco John’s would seem to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. At least, that’s what we used to think. Because after a six-year hiatus, Taco John’s® has selected Lawrence & Schiller as the company’s new strategic and creative agency of record – again.

The legendary West-Mex™ fast-food chain that brought us Taco Tuesday, Potato Olés® and the Taco Bravo® – named by USA Today as America’s Best Fast Food Taco – is back home at L&S. And we couldn’t be happier.

L&S will work to strengthen brand strategy, creative development, social/digital performance, and media planning across Taco John’s nearly 350 locations.

“To grow the chain and win new customers within the Quick Serve Restaurant space, L&S will play a central role in helping communicate Taco John’s value proposition, leveraging nostalgia and superior food quality to increase sales and brand awareness,” said Kevin Flaherty, Taco John’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Since our companies last worked together, the 55 year-old restaurant chain has relocated its corporate headquarters from Cheyenne, WY, to St. Louis Park, MN. At the same time, L&S opened a second office in Minneapolis, paving the way for a much-welcome reunion.

During the agency’s first stint as Taco John’s AOR from 2009 to 2019, L&S provided a full range of services, including design, video and audio, digital marketing, social media and more, helping Taco John’s to experience a streak of 22 consecutive months of same store sales increases. The partnership also earned a host of creative honors, including multiple Telly and American Advertising Awards, with a Best of Show for the 2018 “Olé the Day” campaign.

Lawrence & Schiller’s new creative work for Taco John’s will launch in February 2026. In addition, L&S is leading media strategy and buying for the Sioux City and Sioux Falls co-op markets.
