Senior Designer

We’re looking for a Senior Designer who can not only see the big picture, but is ready to roll up their sleeves and bring it to life. Someone with artistic vision, an eye for detail and a passion for creating great work as part of a team — lending your talents to some of the region’s biggest brands in health, tourism, higher education and more. At L&S, our design team creates everything from branding and packaging to websites and motion graphics. WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Collaborate with other designers, writers and video producers to develop creative concepts for digital, print, websites, outdoor, packaging, motion graphics and more
• Help craft and evolve client brands, providing rationale for design decisions and exhibiting a strong understanding of branding strategy
• Use Adobe Creative Cloud tools with advanced skill to create, version and ship campaign assets with strong production quality and attention to detail
• Interpret creative briefs and help develop creative direction alongside team members
• Brainstorm media and digital strategy recommendations with your team
• Work with an Art Director and/or Creative Director to solve design challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Work with clients to gather design direction, interpret feedback and present recommendations
• Follow best practices and brand standards while adapting creative for each marketing channel
• Assist with additional creative duties including photography, set/prop design, storyboarding, shoot direction, food styling and more
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional design experience (agency experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, visual communications or a related field
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (Premiere Pro or After Effects experience is a plus), as well as Figma
• Willingness to learn and a natural talent for telling visual stories
• Diverse skillset backed by a strong portfolio of work
• Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
This position is an in-person role based out of our Minneapolis or Sioux Falls office.
Copywriter
We’re looking for a passionate, collaborative Copywriter to join our team. At L&S, Copywriters work with other creatives and across disciplines to brainstorm campaign ideas, write persuasive and inventive copy for all media, proof and edit content, and apply creative thinking to tell stories in new, engaging ways that connect with audiences.
WHO YOU ARE
A copywriter is a critical thinker who can solve problems, translating benefits and services into compelling, consumer-focused selling propositions. Copywriters are self-motivated, love to write and are prolific brainstormers. They’re also skilled at summarizing ideas for clarity, varying style and tone, and knowing when to use a colon vs. a semicolon (probably never).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Take direction from a creative brief and translate it into imaginative, original concepts that connect with target audiences and impact client goals.
• Write conversational, compelling copy for video, social media, email, websites, print, radio, paid search and more.
• Assist clients with brand strategy, positioning and taglines.
• Collaborate with other creatives to brainstorm ideas, vet concepts and take constructive feedback.
• Proof and edit copy for spelling, grammar, structure, tone and style.
• Research clients and their industries to understand products, audiences, competition and trends.
• Keep your finger on the pulse of news, pop culture and ad industry trends to write content that’s relevant.
• Stay organized and work well under pressure, juggling several projects at once while hitting deadlines.
• Work with design and video teams to contribute to visual direction.
• Present concepts and copy alongside a Creative Director, explaining your ideas and incorporating feedback.
• Exhibit a drive for learning, self-improvement and growth.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to communicate project statuses, extend concepts across media and develop digital content ideas.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in advertising, journalism, communications, English or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Prior professional writing or agency experience preferred
• Portfolio of work or writing samples required
This position is an in-person role based in our Sioux Falls office.

Ad Camp Internship
Ad Camp is our summer internship program where students learn survival skills for the wild world of advertising. We hire interns from all walks of life, including design, project management, media, digital, video, social, research and finance. Applications are typically accepted December through January for summer internships starting in May.
