The marketing industry is ever-changing with advances in technology, software and more. That’s why it’s especially important to stay in the know and take advantage of these changes as part of your marketing strategy.

At L&S, it’s our job to keep a pulse on industry changes so we can continue to utilize tools and data to improve client communication, provide top tier media placement and adjust strategy accordingly. Here are a few of our latest updates.

UPDATES TO DATA PRIVACY: WHAT THEY MEAN FOR YOU

You’ve seen it all over the news and even in Congressional hearings. So here’s the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica data controversy, decoded:

  • In short, Facebook was not hacked. Instead, an outside app developer used Facebook information incorrectly, not only collecting the data of those who opted into the app but also of the users in their extended social networks.
  • Moving forward, Facebook will offer evolved targeting options to keep users’ data more secure while still providing relevant audiences to advertisers.
  • Many L&S clients take advantage of opportunities to pair marketing with robust audience data, and these strategies could pivot as a result.

So what is L&S doing about it? We maintain direct working relationships with contacts at Google, Facebook, Instagram and other major media, digital and data partners. We’ve already met with our top placement partners to begin strategizing how data privacy, third party audience information and targeting may evolve. We’re also evolving privacy policies on our clients’ websites to comply with changes happening with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for European website traffic.

Rest assured that any campaigns with L&S are, and will continue to be, on the up-and-up. But we’ll continue to monitor updates closely, preparing for future change and advising clients accordingly. Have questions?

STACKS ON STACKS OF NEW MARTECH

Privacy data isn’t the only thing evolving. At L&S, we’re also expanding our marketing technology (MarTech) stacks to include better tools for clients. Two of these new additions are Mavenlink and Mediaocean.

Mavenlink

For many companies, the pillars of their MarTech stack revolve around sales. For L&S, our most important tools improve communication with clients. Mavenlink is a new project management software that will help us drive clarity, transparency and efficiency on client projects. Used by companies like Buzzfeed, Salesforce and more, Mavenlink helps manage project details and communication. As the software is rolled out, your L&S team will train your team on all its features and benefits.

Mediaocean

Mediaocean is a new media buying software used by major worldwide agencies like WPP, Publicis Groupe and Havas. It’s already one of the top tools in the industry and will help L&S integrate traditional and digital placements so we can buy cohesively, just like we plan. Mediaocean automates and optimizes workflow for planning, placing, analytics and more. It’s working with the best so we can bring our clients the best.
